BE&SCO equipment is solely intended for use in a commercial facility. The warranty will not be supported and may be voided if BE&SCO equipment is used in a non-commercial or household setting.

Your Wedge Press doesn't turn on.

Cause:
A. No power to your machine
B. Machine is not plugged in
C. The Shell is not closed properly.

Solution:
A. Check the branch line circuit breaker.
B. Check to see if your machine is plugged into an electricla outlet.
C. Make sure the safety shell is placed in properly with the black knobs tightened.

The Temperature controller lights up and the press plates heat up. The press motor lights come on, but the press motor will not run..

Cause:
A. The plug harness is not connected.

Solution:
A. Check if the motor plug harness is connected to the female receptacle.

The Top plate is not getting hot.

Cause:
A. The top press plate power harness is disconnected.
B. The Top press plate thermostat is not functioning.

Solution:
A. Get a qualified service company to come out and check it, or contact our Service Department

The Bottom plate is not getting hot.

Cause:
A. The bottom press plate power harness is disconnected.
B. The bottom press plate thermostat is not functioning.

Solution:
A. Get a qualified service company to come out and check it, or contact our Service Department

Your machine will not run and lights will not work.

Cause:
A. No power to your machine
B. Power fuses are blown.
C. The Shell is not closed properly.

Solution:
A. Check the branch line circuit breaker.
B. Check fuses.

Your machine runs, oven plates are turning, the lights are working, but the oven plates are not heating.

Cause:
A. The oven is not connected properly.
B. Bad thermocouple

Solution:
A. Get a qualified service company to come out and check it, or contact our Service Department

Are you having trouble with your tortilla production? Below are common problems and remedies for your tortilla production. Please contact us if you do not see a solution to your particular problem.

Your Tortilla had broken edges, grainy appearance and some holes.

Cause:
A. Dough is not proofed enough
B. Poor proofing environment
C. Not enough water in your mix.

Solution:
A. Allow for longer proofing time
B. Find a better proofing environment or use a proofing box.
C. Add more water to your mix.

Tortilla size changes from the same batch of dough.

Cause:
A. Your dough balls are not the same weight or shape.

Solution:
A. Your Dough divider/Rounder needs adjusting or your dough was divided unevenly by the operator.

Tortilla size changes from a different batch of dough.

Cause:
A. Your dough is not controlled from batch to batch.

Solution:
A. Check if your dough-mixing is performed correctly.
B. Fix your proofing environment, or use a proofing box
C. Measure your ingredients more carefully.

Your tortilla is not round in shape

Cause:
A. Your dough balls are not round
B. Your dough is too sticky
C. Your press plates need adjusting

Solution:
A. Adjust your rounding machine
B. Check and correct your dough mix. Line your dough ball pan with parchment paper
C. Get a qualified service company to come out and check it, or contact our Service Department

Your tortilla size is too large

Cause:
A. Your dough has been "over-proofed"
B. Wrong dough ball weight
C. Speed is too slow for your temperature setting
D. Your press plates are too close together.

Solution:
A. Reduce your proofing time
B. Check and correct your dough mix
C. Increase your press speed or decrease your temperature setting.
D. Check your press plate adjustment.

Your tortilla crumbles under the press plates

Cause:
A. Your dough is too soft
B. Your press plates are too hot
C. Your press plates are too close together.

Solution:
A. Check your dough mix and reduce the amount of water
B. Lower your press plate temperature
C. Check your press plate adjustment.

Your tortilla folds coming off the press plates

Cause:
A. Your dough is too soft
B. Your press plate temperature is too low
C. There is build up on your bottom press plate.

Solution:
A. Check your dough mix and reduce the amount of water
B. Raise press plate temperature by 10 degrees F (-12 degrees C) until problem is corrected
C. Clean your press plates.

Your tortilla sticks to the top press plate

Cause:
A. Flour Build-up

Solution:
A. Clean your press plates.

Major sticking problem when machine is first used after being stopped for awhile.

Cause:
A. Start-up done wrong
B. Cleaning was not done correctly, or at all.

Solution:
A. Read the Start-up section in your manual
B. Read the cleaning section of your manual.

Part of your tortilla is pressed.

Cause:
A. Press plate temperature is too hot

Solution:
A. Decrease press plate temperature by 5 degrees F (-16 degrees C) until problem is corrected.

Heavy dark buildup on press plates

Cause:
A. Press plates are out of adjustment
b. Your press plates are not cleaned often enough
C. Press plates need to be cleaned.

Check the CAM ROLLERS every 1500 hours of machine operation time and REPLACE them if grooves appear on wheel surface.
REPLACE BTM PLATE BRONZE BUSHINGS every 1500 hours of machine operation time.
Through the CAM ROLLERS GREASE POINT, Grease the CAM ROLLERS twice a week with Part# 911211003 Grease
Grease the CAM ROLLERS WHEEL SURFACE weekly with Part# 911211003 Grease
Through the PLATE PIVOT GREASE POINT, grease the BTM (Plate Bronze Bushings) with Part# 911211003 Grease
